Help For Huskies is non profit organisation dedicated to the rescue, welfare, fostering and rehoming of the Husky or any sled dog breed and has been in operation for over 14 years. We are a group of dedicated enthusiasts based in the UK who volunteer their time to care for these dogs in need.
We work with individuals and organisations to care for dogs in need, rescue abandoned dogs, assist owners in a position of giving up their dogs as well as fostering and find loving new homes for the dogs.
We assist with all aspects of Husky rescue and welfare including advising on responsibilities and educating people on the breed.
We keep our administrative costs very low so that every penny raised in donated funds will go directly to the needs of our rescue dogs and no funds are used to pay any members of the organisation. Any donation is gratefully received; take a look at our dog profiles and perhaps you could consider donating on a regular basis.
You can help in many ways, from practical help with walking or work at the rescue, to assisting with covering vet costs, or money for food, blankets, towels, bowls, leads, harnesses, crates or any related Husky Sled Dog items.
Volunteers are also required for Fostering and Adopting. If you could care for a sled dog on a short or long term basis please do get in touch for a chat.
NEWS: In the coming weeks we’ll be announcing the opening of the Help For Husky shop in the heart of Maryport; as well as a selection of goods both new and second hand we’ll also be selling a fabulous range of new age products including crystals and incense. We’ll also be hosting a Pet Foodbank to help out pet owners in need; all donations gratefully received.
